Welcome to the Norwich Classic Vehicle Club
2nd April 2020
April meeting cancelled due to COVID-19 outbreak
We welcome members from all over East Anglia organising and attending events throughout the year. Our aim is to ensure a friendly and family atmosphere.
Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak the decision has been taken to cancel our April and May club meetings. Take care and stay safe.
We have made the decision we didn't want to have to make in light of the current situation and restrictions and cancelled our annual show at Strumpshaw on May 31st.
Strumpshaw itself has closed the museum and has cancelled its Easter Egg Hunt and the Steam Gala which was the weekend before our show.
Large gatherings - even outdoors - are a no-no at present and we would expect to have around 2000 people at the show.
We feel it's a common sense decision as is the one taken by Tom and his team at Strumpshaw. We hope for your understanding and we promise you a good 'un next year!!
DRIVE-IT DAY POSTPONED
We've taken what we think is the responsible decision to postpone the Drive-it Day run. We hope we can re-arrange it for later in the year when this current situation eases somewhat. We don't think it's the right thing, even though a lot of the run will be spent in our own cars, the message coming from the Government now is just don't go out unless you have to.
Thanks for your understanding
Grant and Gary
To all members of the Norwich Classic Vehicle Club. I trust you and your family’s are all well and keeping safe in these troubled times. I’m sorry I had to cancel the April meet at Whitwell also the Drive it day, hopefully we will have it later in the year. As far as the club show for 2020 being cancelled it seemed prudent as all around us were cancelling including Strumpshaw. At this moment the May meeting is still going ahead but please watch this space as things could possibly change.
I think it will be a very strange year for car shows this year and can hope 2021 will be better.
Stay safe and see you all very soon
The show listings page will be updated as we get news of shows being cancelled or postponed, but it's probably safe to assume that there won't be much happening until June at the earliest.
FREE TO A GOOD HOME:
Having recently joined the club and having a clear-out to make way for changes in the garden I was wondering if anyone has a use for a trailer I have – it’s a converted steel caravan chassis that I used to use with a kitcar but no longer have a use for. It needs some TLC but the frame is basically solid and tyres are good (including spare). It will need a new bed as its been sat outside and the plywood has suffered. It will only fit a relatively small car on it, bed size is 1550mm x 3240mm. I also have a small trailer we used to use for camping which I re-bodied 10 years ago, also available for free, suffered a bit from damp but would need a new wheel as one tyre has perished (as seen in the backgrounf of one of the pics).
If anyone wants them, they’re available to take away for free (pics below). I can be contacted on 07725 079 039 or firstname.lastname@example.org
